Privacy at this hearth
Last updated October 5, 2026. This page describes how The Well & The Hearth Fellowship currently handles member information.
Signing in
You can sign in with ChatGPT, Firebase email/password, or Firebase phone verification. Apple sign-in is currently disabled. ChatGPT sign-in provides your site identity and email, and may provide your name. It does not provide access to your conversations, files, or memory.
Firebase processes email credentials and phone verification. We keep a Firebase identity ID, email or phone contact, and its connection to your fellowship membership. This site does not store your password. A secure, HttpOnly session cookie keeps Firebase members signed in for up to one hour. Logging out removes the site session cookie; it does not delete your provider account.
Profiles and location
New profiles default to signed-in members only. You can choose public, members-only, or only-me visibility, and control service badges, marketplace contact, and participation in the homepage rings. City, state, and country appear only if you choose to show them.
The rings use an optional approximate location. The member-location response returns distance bands, not members’ coordinates. A private profile is excluded from other visitors’ directories and rings. Names attached to published contributions, leadership roles, or gathering participation may still be visible independently of profile privacy.
Manage your privacy choicesWritings, images, recordings, and shops
Conversations, library contributions, tributes, celebration and stewardship stories, photographs, recordings, and marketplace listings are shared with site visitors. Share only material you have permission to publish, with appropriate consent from people depicted. Authors’ names appear alongside their contributions.
Uploads are held in the site’s hosted object storage; larger recordings use the configured Firebase Storage bucket. Member records and contribution details are held in the site database. Linked shops process their own purchases and payments. External sites and sign-in providers have their own privacy practices.
Private service documents and counsel
Uploaded service documents are restricted to the member who submitted them and authorized fellowship reviewers. Reviewers check name and service details; this is a human fellowship review, not an automated scan or government verification. Redact addresses, identifiers, medical information, and unrelated details before uploading.
The proof file is deleted after a review decision. Review status, service name, document type, dates, and reviewer notes remain with the service record. Private counsel conversations are available only to their participants. Reports, account review, and support requests are restricted to the appropriate authorized members.
Keeping and deleting information
Member information remains while needed to operate your account and the features you use. You can edit your profile and remove your own contributions where the author controls are available. Account deletion removes your profile and contributions, closes clans you founded, and disconnects the linked Firebase login from that fellowship membership. It does not delete your ChatGPT or Firebase account. Shared governance records may remain to document council decisions.
Operational logs and hosting or provider retention may continue separately; deletion from the site is not a promise of immediate removal from every provider backup or log. The site currently has no guaranteed data-residency region. We do not publish private verification files or sell member records.
Manage or delete your fellowship accountQuestions or corrections
Use the private help request to ask about account information, request a correction, or report a technical problem. Do not include passwords, verification documents, medical information, or payment-card details.
